In recent times there has been a rapid increase in the migration of Nigerians to various parts of the world. Nigerians have spread themselves generously across the globe and have found ways to adapt to systems of various jurisdictions. In an article published by The Guardian November 2023 it was reported that about 141,000 Nigerians between June 2022 and June 2023 have migrated to the UK making them the second highest number of immigrants in the Uk after india.
These movements come with its fair share of problems and challenges. These challenges range from issues of discrimination, visa and passport problems, educational and legal issues. Over the years we have heard a lot of Nigerians share their challenges and problems they have encountered and the poor response to solving such issues. The Nigerians in Diaspora Chat NIDOCHAT platform seeks to be an emergency response to these issues and presents a platform where Nigerians in Diaspora can reach out to their home country in terms of distress and challenges faced in their new environment. It is also a space where Nigerians can reach out to each other fostering unity even in diaspora.
